The tape starts with the recap of Jim Palmer's one hitter vs. the Twins - you all know when this was during that 1982 year. Yes, I have chills right now as I'm listening as I'm writing. After the full rendition of the "I'm talkin' baseball..." we pick up with a post game show with Tom Marr recapping a win vs. the Yankees.

The O's beat the Yanks 8-7 and the O's pull within a game in the all important loss column when the Tigers beat the Brewers. This is awesome! Mike Boddicker first career win. Tippy Martinez strikes out Winfield to win the game. The O's have now won 20 out of 24.

Bill O'Donnell would pass away less than two months later. In his "Ain't The Beer Cold" book, Chuck Thompson writes about Bill laying down on folding chairs the innings he wasn't broadcasting....
These tapes bring back so many memories of days at Memorial Stadium. Ironic that the Orioles were known in those days of being a hot September team where in recent years the Birds have tanked in September. I hope they can turn it around soon. I hope my son has the same thrill I had of the local team being winners.
